Rashia’s Letter for Consideration:

Dear Sir / Madam:
My name is Rashia Yero and the reason that I am writing this letter is because I have an opportunity of a lifetime to showcase my skills and abilities to some of the top college bowling scouts in the country. This great opportunity will afford me the chance to earn scholarship funds to be applied towards my upcoming graduation.

However, because of my financial hardship, this opportunity may not be available to me without some type of financial assistance.

Currently, I am a junior at White Station High School and I expect to graduate in the spring of 2010. Overall, my GPA is 3.588 and I’m an active member of my school’s bowling team. Although academics has always been an important accomplishment to me, my passion lies with bowling. I come from a family of bowlers and started bowling when I was only 5 years old. Over the years, I have won countless awards in my Saturday morning bowling league and various tournaments. I’ve won awards including the TNBA Junior Rhodman Tournament, Southern Regional Junior Championship Tournament, the Pepsi Classic. For the 2008-2009 bowling season for Tennessee High School Bowlers I was ranked 14th out of all the female bowlers in Tennessee. I currently carry an average of 189. So as you can see, not only do I excel in academics, but my perseverance and love for bowling has made me one of the top ranked female bowling contenders among high school bowlers in Tennessee.

There was a tournament that I won back in May 2009 which featured 100 female bowlers, which I won 2nd place and a qualifying spot to attend the TeamMaster Bowling Tournament that will be held at South Point in Las Vegas, NV from July 29, 2009-August 5, 2009. Although my score qualified me to be apart of the tournament, there was a required entry fee of $396.00 that will be due by June 1, 2009. At this time, my family can not afford this entry fee and all of the expenses associated with me attending the tournament. But because of the exposure and the potential opportunity for scholarship funds, I do not want to let my dream of attending this tournament be lost. Not to mention my grandmother committed and promised to help out but took sick just months before the tournament, and after she had made plans to participate. She was diagnosed with having several mini strokes and possible blood clots in both her legs. At this point, she must use the funds she had set aside for the trip to be used for her medications.

Therefore, things could not get any worse and I did not know what we were going to do next. Then I heard of the wonderful things regarding your organization from a family friend and since you are my last hope, I hope that you will be able to help me as well. I would like to humbly ask for your partnership and sponsorship so that I can be apart of the TeamMaster Tournament. Your sponsorship commitment of $ 800 to 1,200 would allow me to participate, including $396.00 for my entry fee into the tournament. This would also include assistance with lodging and food. In return to you, I will go to Nevada and work my hardest to not only make myself proud but to also spotlight your organization for the support you have given me. Your sponsorship you will be a part of my continued determination and success.

If you are willing to make a difference in my life, please make your donation today.

Thank you in advance for your support. I won’t let you down.

Sincerely,
Rashia Yero
